Meeting the Makeup Fairy

Hi girlies,

Welcome back, I hope you had a lovely weekend. Todays post is about the master class I attended in Inglot on St Anne's street south on Sunday. The class was held by the fabulous Joanne Larby, otherwise know as the Makeup Fairy.

I have been the biggest fan of Joanne's for the  longest time and have always wanted to meet her. I have been a fan since even before she started YouTube. After watching her videos I knew she was a genuine and lovely person, at least that's how she came across in her videos. I was not mistaken. She was an absolute lady in person, so bubbly, funny and just a pleasure.

The master class was a three hour class where Joanne talked about her success and her background, she also recreated two looks she had recently filmed on her YouTube channel and had a Q&A throughout. She was very funny and very honest which I loved about her. The looks were fabulous, she is an incredabily talented MUA. She talked through everything she was doing and why she was doing it.
Although I am a makeup artist myself I still picked up a lot of tips. A makeup artist is always learning of course.
Here are a look at the looks Joanne created. The first was Khloe Kardashian inspired and was one of Joanne's latest looks she recreated for her YouTube channel.

Joanne used cream products to achieve this gorgeous contoured look which I loved. The lips where kept matte with this vibrant red lipstick and the eyes were very simple with just a wash of colour. Lashes were then added to perfect the look. This look is nearly identical to that of Khloes.

The next and final look was my favourite of the two as it was very dramatic and the use of colour to achieve this look was fab. It was a cranberry and plum smokey eye with a blend of matte black. I adore this look and is definately something I would wear myself on a night out. I think I might have to recreate this myself.

The lips were kept nude so they did not over power the look as the eyes were so dramatic. Perfect for any night out.

After both looks we're complete I got a chance to have a little chat with Joanne and she also got in a short vlog with me which is now on my channel. I was so honoured that she would be in my video. She also shared it on her social media sites which was so kind. She gave me great advice and told me not to give up.

I really enjoyed that class and would definately attend another she is holding. I recommend this master class to anyone wanting to learn about makeup or brush up on their skills. I felt so inspired after leaving the class and was so excited to get home and edit my vlog. I am sure I will met her again she is such a lovely lady.

If you haven't subscribe to her channel or checked out her blog then you need to. I am sure you will love her as much as I did.

Keep an eye out for a makeup collaboration coming soon from me and the gorgeous makeupfairy.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post.

I am also going to Cork on Wednesday to meet the lovely makeupchair and makeupbysaz so will be vlogging then too. Subscribe to my channel and keep an eye out for that video

Lots of love

Healthy Breakfast Options 🍎🍊🍒🍉🍇🍠🍑🍍

Hey girls and guys,

Welcome back to my blog, I hope you are having a fabulous day and enjoying the gorgeous sunshine. I am just back from a lovely day in Bray where I enjoyed a cold cider, some lovely lunch and of course a '99 ice cream.

In today's post I bring a few healthy breakfast ideas to you to help brighten up your morning. It is especially nice to try new meals in the summer months as fruit is in season and fresher than ever!

I would consider myself to be relatively healthy. I most certainly get my recommended 5 a day, althought I've read recently we should be having up to 10 a day. As breakfast is my favourite meal of the day I like to treat myself to a fruit salad, poached eggs, a smoothie or some banana pancakes instead of boring old porridge.

To start off I am going to tell you about what I had for breakfast this morning and it was delicious. I had banana pancakes, they contain no flour and are so yummy. I had seen these before but have no idea why it took me so long to try them. They are so simple and quick to make and contain two ingredients that almost everyone has lying around their house.

Here is a look at the gorgeous pancakes I made this morning I just topped them off with some fat free
blueberry yogurt and some fresh strawberries. It was so tasty and filling.

The recipe for these banana pancakes is so simple. All it is, is a mashed up banana with two eggs blended throughout.  I also added some oats, some chia seeds and a tiny sprinkle of sugar. I mixed it all together and fried it up. Simple right. Then I added a big cup of cranberry green tea and that was my yummy breakfast.

Then next breakfast I like to have is also very quick and simple. I really enjoy fresh berries, not only because they are tasty but they speed up your metabolism which burns calories faster but they
also are rich in anti-oxidants.

I simply mix up some of my favourite berries including strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries, I add some organic granola on top with fat free yogurt and chia seeds and I am good to go. Simple, easy and delicious!!!

My favourite yogurt at the moment is Greek style and I especially love the blueberry flavour.

Another healthy breakfast option that I love are smoothies. It is the exact same are above but all I do is add it to a food blender, add a banana and blend that baby up... Beautiful smoothie that will keep you fuller for longer. I also like to have one of my banana oat and peanubutter muffins with this.

My peanut butter banana muffins are to die for and the added bonus is they contain no carbs. Big thumbs up from me. They are also so simple to make. I like to have them one their own as a snack, with a smoothie for breakfast or simply with fruit for breakfast.

They are so easy to make all you will need is

~ two bananas
~ two eggs & one egg white
~ one table spoon of natural peanutbutter
~ one tea spoon of baking soda
~ two and a half tea spoons of sugar
~ one cup of organic oats.

Simply add all the ingredients to a big mixing bowl, blend together with a hand mixer until it looks like a smooth batter, place in cupcake holders in a baking tray and place in a preheated oven to 180 degrees until golden brown on top. Aprox 15 mins. I like to add crushed dried banana chips on top or u can add pecan nuts or seeds. This muffin mix is very healthy but so tastly.

The last breakfast option I have for you is simply poached egg on whole grain toast. This is so simple and I love it. I generally have this breakfast on the weekend. All you need to do is bring a pan of water to the boil and drop the egg in. You can either do this from a cup or from the shell, let it cook for about 2 mins and you have the perfect poached eggs.

I really hope you enjoyed this blog post and hope it inspires you to try new breakfasts and be healthier. I will have a video on my YouTube channel (facesbygrace23) real soon on how I get all of these gorgeous breakfasts ready so keep an eye out for that.

Review on products from TP Welehan

Hey girls,

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying this lovely sunny Monday afternoon!

Today I wanted to blog about some really nice products I recently received from a company called TP Whelehan. I received some beautiful stuff which can all be purchased from Penny's/ Primark and are all so affordable.

The first product I would like to mention is the shampoo I am currently loving and using, it is the Moroccan Argan Oil shampoo and conditioner. Not only does it smell amazing, it also leaves the hair so soft, manageable and sleek. I have been using the pair every other day this  month and will definitely  be repurchasing them.

The two together retail at an unbelievable €3, sure you can't go wrong really.

I also received the shampoo for brunette  andblondes but am yet to try the brunette out. I will be giving the blonde to a friend to try out.

The next thing I received was the dry shampoos from batiste and they are one of my favourite products this month. I have previously owned this product but it has been some years since I tried it, I absolutely love it. It smells amazing and leaves the hair looking and feeling as fresh as if it had been washed. I like to use this product every other day when I don't shampoo my hair. It just makes it feel fresh but also adds volume as allows me to style my hair better. I am really keen to try the new xxl volume powder from batiste so hopefully there will be a blog post on that soon!!!

Next product I am raving about is the pearl drops toothpaste. I have used this toothpaste in the past and loved it and am loving it now too. I generally use my Colgate toothpaste once a day and my pearl drops the other time I brush my teeth. It takes some time for the difference to be seen but I can definitely see it already. I am a coffee and tea addict so this product is a must have for me.

The last products I received were the lip balms from Malibu. They have an SPF of 30 which is huge for lip balms, 15 is the norm most of the time. I love how these bad boys smell and they are so calming and moisturising on the lips. Definite must have for the summer and handy for your beach bag, handbag or just to throw in your pocket.

A big thumbs up to TP whelehan for the awesome products, they are amazing and so affordable. I would recommend you head straight to your nearest penny's and pick some of these bargains up, you won't be disappointed.

A big thank you to ciara and TP whelehan for the products. Perfect for the spring and summer.

I hope you found this blog post helpful.

Lots of love
