Getting Your Mojo Back & Dressing To Feel Confident

Hey Dolls,

I wanted to share this look with you and talk a little about body confidence and regaining your style if you've lost it along the way. It's taken me almost 9 months to start to feel like myself again after having Sienna.

After almost a year of maternity clothes and buying clothes to cover up I finally feel I'm getting my style back and feeling like me again. This doesn't necessarily only apply to woman who have had babies, Ive been through this in the past when I gained weight and struggled to find clothes I liked, fit into and felt confident in. I think one of the biggest thing for me was accepting by new body and working with what I have instead of wishing for what I don't have. I now dress in clothes that make me feel confident and comfortable and that are also stylish and on trend.

This outfit wasn't really planned, I didn't buy the skirt and top to go with each other but they just worked. If you've been following me on social media over the summer you will have noticed I'm completely obsessed with the bardot trend and anything off the shoulder. I think I like it so much because I can cover the top of my arms, thats one area I'm very self conscience about.

This skirt and top are both from Penneys, shoes are River Island and bag is Zara. You can find similar shoes here and a similar bag here.

This is a really simple look to recreate. There are so many good things about bardot and cold shoulder tops. They allow anyone who is self-conscious about their arms to cover up while still having some skin on show. For many people, having their collarbones on show is really flattering for their shape, add some shimmery highlighter to the tops of your shoulders and your collarbones to shine all day!

This look can be re-created in so many ways to suit anyone's taste. It is a really handy outfit to throw on and feel glam in but totally practical at the same time, you will feel fabulous. If you think a bardot top won't suit you or if you think you won't be able to pull it off just give it a go and see what you think!

Here are some gorgeous tops from the stores we all know and love to help you get your style back!

Everyone needs a crisp white shirt in their wardrobe, this beautiful frill sleeve off the shoulder top could be your way of jazzing up the classic white shirt. This will go perfectly with some light denim shorts or skirts on holiday or with jeans in Irish weather! Shop this on Boohoo (reduced) here

Embroidered Off-the-Shoulder Top

Although this top is black, it is everything summer 2017 style is about. The embroidery detail and the frill this top could take you from day to night with a simple shoe change. Team it with a choker to create the perfect fun and vibrant look. Shop this top from Forever 21 here.

Time for a pop of colour! How beautiful is this 'Running Through the Garden' floral bardot top? This could be your ultimate go-to top for the rest of the summer and autumn. This goes so well with ripped high-waisted jeans or a button up denim skirt would be fab too! Shop it from Nasty Gal here.

This print is so cute! Keep the colours bright and you will nail any summer look you put together. This top is business and leisure rolled into one. The shirt feel and the stripes give this quite a tailored look but the cute bow at the front and 3/4 length sleeves make it perfect for the weekend too! Shop this pretty top from Missguided here.

  1. Love the post & you're right about Bardot style. You look lucky enough not to have to wear a bra but unfortunately I've big boobs (small frame though) - so would you recommend strapless bra (which I hate) or wearing a matching bra with straps showing? Thanks x
